Unitika, which began spinning textiles in 1889, is now the only manufacturer of synthetic fibers and natural fibers with production facilities in Japan, and it is this long development of expertise that gave birth to 「PALPA」. Almost half a century on, 「PALPA」 is now used in sports, outdoor wear, uniforms, innerwear and more, and it continues to evolve.
The most commonly used 「PALPA」 is a combination of cotton and polyester. This is because the polyester makes it less likely to wrinkle or shrink, even when washed at home, making fabric care easier.
「PALPA」 dries quickly. Why? Because the Core−Sheath structure of different materials leverages their respective characteristics. The cotton sheath absorbs moisture such as sweat while the polyester core diffuses it to dry more quickly.
